The '''Hero of Oakvale''' is the main protagonist in both ''[[Fable]]'' and its expansion ''[[Fable: The Lost Chapters]]''. He is the only playable character in both the above games. His name is never directly mentioned in the games, and he is often referred to as "The Hero", "Farmboy" or simply "Boy". The people of Albion call the Hero by his customizable Hero title (purchased via [[Title Vendor]]), which is always "Chicken Chaser" at the beginning of the game. His appearance is also customizable, and thus depends on the player's preferences.

  +
|-
In the cut scenes narrated by [[Weaver|The Guildmaster]], he is depicted as having long dark brown or black hair and clean shaven. His outfit changes in almost every one of the cut scenes. He is the most powerful Hero in [[Albion]] because of his ancient bloodline leading back to the ancient rulers of the [[Old Kingdom]], the [[Archon]]. He is a master of the three Hero traits, [[strength]], [[skill]] and [[will]].

Hey I noticed you started making some of the pages for the Fable Heroes achievements. Just wanted to let you know I will be helping you out with that regard. I already have some of the pics uploaded and will add them to the existing articles and work on the other achievement articles this weekend. I was thinking of including the information regarding the Inner Board tiles the various achievements unlock. What do you think? -- <span style="font-family:Arial;">[[User:Geekie beekie|<font color="#BA55D3">geekie beekie</font>]]([[User talk:Geekie beekie|<font color="grey">Talk</font>]])</span> 00:50, May 19, 2012 (UTC)
=== Early Life ===

The Hero is the child of the famous heroine [[Scarlet Robe]], who was often away from [[Oakvale]] due to her responsibilities as a Hero, so the Hero's father [[Brom]] looks after him and his older sister [[Theresa]] most of the time. The Hero starts off on a seemingly normal day as a young boy in [[Oakvale]] getting a birthday present for Theresa by either performing enough good deeds to earn [[gold]] from his father or performing bad deeds in order to gain money.

:Wasn't me, it was [[User:Danny Akenson|Danny Akenson]] (I was just adding the infoboxes and formatting the text), but thanks for what you are both doing! I don't have the game yet so I'm not familiar with the gameplay in an extended regard, and I don't really know what the Inner Board is. If it's a gameplay feature worthy of its own article, then I would say do both; create an article for that and add any relevant information to the achievement articles as well. --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 15:50, May 19, 2012 (UTC)
He eventually gets the present and gives it to his sister. As much as she wants to celebrate the day, she warns him of strange dream she had; a vision of great terror, chaos and pain. As they head back into the village, a man runs by screaming about a group of [[bandits]] attacking the once peaceful village, determined to rob and murder the humble villagers as they search for the boy. The boy hides behind a nearby fence; however, Theresa is not so lucky and is captured by the bandits.

::Yeah I noticed that not too long after I wrote you. Heh. The Inner Board should probably have an article. It is pretty directly related to the Abilities Board and I don't think there's enough to say about them separately to warrant unique articles for each. But I suppose you won't be able to provide much input until you play the game. Oh that reminds me... I guess Lionhead is giving out [http://lionhead.com/fable-heroes-code-giveaway/free free Fable Heroes redemption codes] for the month of May. Just in case you're interested. ;) -- <span style="font-family:Arial;">[[User:Geekie beekie|<font color="#BA55D3">geekie beekie</font>]]([[User talk:Geekie beekie|<font color="grey">Talk</font>]])</span> 17:11, May 19, 2012 (UTC)
[[File:Fable_2011-03-04_19-56-54-21.png|right|176px|The Hero of Oakvale during his childhood.]]The bandits pillage long into the night. The blue sky becomes completely enveloped in a blanket of total darkness as a fierce inferno engulfs the village, burning homes and taverns down to the ground. The boy can do nothing but listen to the shrill cries of the villagers, desperately trying to defend themselves against the bandit horde. The simple people of the village prove an easy task for the bandits, and almost everyone is killed.

::IMO the Inner Board is just an extension of the Abilities Board and should be covered on the same page. Creating another page would be like slicing up the Road to Rule to separate pages for each gate passed.[[User:Garry Damrau|Garry Damrau]]([[User talk:Garry Damrau|talk]]) 12:34, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
The terrified boy returns to the town, but not a soul can be found, only destruction. He wanders to his home and is heart-broken to find the corpse of his father, and begins to cry. Suddenly, a lone bandit charges straight towards the defenseless child. Fortunately, [[Maze]] - a powerful Hero and the head of the [[Heroes' Guild]] - is able to intervene, and kills the bandit in a single powerful attack, saving the young boy from harm.

  +
== Robot, Mechanical, or Clockwork? ==
He warns the boy that if he doesn't come with him then he too will become a victim of the Oakvale massacre. The boy, scared and confused, reluctantly agrees and Maze teleports the two of them to the sanctuary for Heroes: the [[Heroes' Guild]].

  +
Sorry to bug you again. I just want to make sure I don't step on any toes. I was thinking of renaming the Robot Dog page to Clockwork Dog and Mechanical Beetle to Clockwork Beetle.
=== Heroes Guild ===

The boy is offered a home at the Heroes' Guild where he is given the opportunity to train and possibly become a Hero himself. The boy, eager to avenge his family's death and take down the bandits who had killed his village, readily accepts Maze's offer. It was there that the boy spent the rest of his childhood, studying the ways of the Guild and hero day and night, in the hopes that he might one day discover the bandits behind the vicious attack on Oakvale, and take his revenge.

  +
The enemies in Fable III look just like your dog does after taking the Clockwork Dog Potion so I always assumed that's what they were called. It's been a while since I've done Traitor's Keep so I don't recall if the actual name of the enemy is given. I do know that the beetles in Fable Heroes are Clockwork both because it shows the name in the background when you face them the first time and that's also the name it shows in the boss battle at the end of the Bowerstone level. Could we then assume that the same name applies to the enemies faced on Clockwork Island?
There, he is accepted by the [[Guildmaster]] and begins training with [[Whisper]], a fellow apprentice, rival and friend. After many years of intense training of both mind and body he would, together with Whisper, become a full-fledged graduate of the Heroes Guild and become a Hero.

I just wanted to check before I did anything. Thanks as always for your input. -- <span style="font-family:Arial;">[[User:Geekie beekie|<font color="#BA55D3">geekie beekie</font>]]([[User talk:Geekie beekie|<font color="grey">Talk</font>]])</span> 19:53, May 19, 2012 (UTC)
=== Life after the Guild ===

As the boy begins his new life as a Hero, he gradually becomes more famous and more powerful than any Hero ever seen. The Hero either defends Orchard Farm alongside guards, or attacks it alongside bandits. Either way, the Hero meets Whisper once again and they fight. Whisper is defeated and the Hero gets the reward from the guild. He then [[Trader Escort|escorts a pair of traders]] through [[Darkwood]], defending them against [[balverine]]s and an [[Troll|Earth Troll]] before reaching his destination - the [[Barrow Fields]]. Nearby is his hometown of Oakvale, which has been rebuilt. He is recognized by a young girl who, now grown, he had helped in the opening scenes by getting her teddy bear "Rosie" from a bully.

  +
:I don't remember either whether anything is displayed when you first face them in ''Traitor's Keep'', but if the beetles in ''Heroes'' look similar to those in ''[[Traitor's Keep|TK]]'' and are definitely called Clockwork, then I would say go for it. If it turns out at a later date that those in ''TK'' are called something else, we can always rename them again later. If you have ''[[Fable III|F3]]'' easily accessible you could see if anything appears in the Stats in the Live Room of the Sanctuary that says what they are. --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 21:08, May 19, 2012 (UTC)
[[Maze]] contacts the Hero with news that his sister may have survived the raid. Maze advises him to seek out the "bandit seeress" of the bandit king and former Hero, [[Twinblade]]. After fighting his way through the bandits' camp, he comes face to face with Twinblade, and after a short, but brutal, fight the Hero defeats him. As he winds up his weapon for the final strike, he is stopped by the seeress - who is none other than his own sister, Theresa. She explains to her brother what happened after the day Oakvale burned, how she had been blinded by torture and ended up being saved by Twinblade's bandit clan. Though blind, her other senses had become greatly heightened and awakened an inner strength which focused her "dreams" into prophecies. She talks about their mother and a choice that the Hero would have to make some day, and gives him a letter she had written and a book about their bloodline. She then leaves in search of their mother after magically unlocking some hidden energy within the Hero, making him stronger, then forever leaves the bandit who raised her. The Hero may have then finished Twinblade or spared him. Either way, Assassins are sent after the Hero.

::I just checked the Stats in ''[[Fable III|F3]]'' and it doesn't mention any of the enemies you face in either [[DLC]] Quest Pack. I'm not terribly surprised but it would be nice to have something official that mentions the names. I'll go ahead and rename those pages though. -- <span style="font-family:Arial;">[[User:Geekie beekie|<font color="#BA55D3">geekie beekie</font>]]([[User talk:Geekie beekie|<font color="grey">Talk</font>]])</span> 21:50, May 19, 2012 (UTC)
The Hero's next step, to find out about his mother, is to search for Maze's friend, known as "[[The Archaeologist]]", an expert in the [[Old Kingdom]]. This search takes the Hero to [[Witchwood]] and vanquishes a [[Rock Troll]] along the way finding the Archaeologist behind a mysterious [[Demon Door]], hiding there for fear of being found by darker forces. After opening the Demon Door, the Archaeologist leaves the demon door and goes to find a new hiding place. The Hero then returns to the Heroes Guild, where he learns that Knothole Glade is having a problem with Balverines. Once there, he is attacked several times by the [[Balverine#White Balverine|White Balverine]] while in the village until he receives a [[Silver Augmentation]] for his weapon from the wife of the White Balverine prior his transformation. With this, he drives the White Balverine out of the village and takes the fight to its home in [[Witchwood Lake]], where he defeats the White Balverine and all its regular counterparts. This heroic deed makes the Knothole Glade Chieftain eager to nominate him for competition in the [[Witchwood Arena]]. He is successful in the early rounds and fights many brutal opponents, eventually being joined by Whisper. They handily deal with several rounds of vicious opponents, including the mighty Arachanox, a gigantic scorpion. While celebrating their victory, a mysterious figure appears - introduced as the "Hero of Heroes", [[Jack of Blades]] - who commands that the Hero and Whisper fight each other to death. Here, the Hero stands with the choice to either kill his old friend, earning a reward for doing so, or let her live. After becoming the Arena Champion, he meets Jack in the [[Hall of Heroes]], and is told where he can find his mother, Scarlet Robe, who had also been an Arena Champion. The Hero's rivalry begins with Whisper's older brother, [[Thunder]], who is jealous of the attention [[Lady Grey]] devotes to the newest Arena champion.

::I played through the Bowerstone level of [[Fable Heroes]]on a new profile last night and noticed something for the first time. The first time you face the dog enemies in the level it says their name in the background. It calls them Bomb Dogs. Should I rename the [[Clockwork Dog]] page or just add a Bomb Dog section to it? -- <span style="font-family:Arial;">[[User:Geekie beekie|<font color="#BA55D3">geekie beekie</font>]]([[User talk:Geekie beekie|<font color="grey">Talk</font>]])</span> 17:42, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
The Hero understands that to find his mother he must rescue the Archaeologist, who has been abducted from [[Bowerstone Jail]] by strange demons called minions. The Hero cuts his way through hordes of [[Minions]] to get to the Archaeologist before he is shipped off to prison, who tells the Hero that there is an ancient, otherwise hidden entrance to [[Bargate Prison]] - where Scarlet Robe is being held - a dangerous road through the [[Lychfield Graveyard]]. The Hero is led to the crypt of a legendary Hero named [[Nostro]], who alone can reveal the needed path and whose armor has been stolen by the [[Gravekeeper]]. After collecting the four pieces amongst countless undead, risen from their graves, he returns each piece to the crypt which causes Nostro to signal a Demon Door close by to open, revealing the path to the hidden prison.

:::Hmmm, if you can fill it with enough information to make it worth having a section, then add it as a section for now. Otherwise, just stick it on to the end of the existing paragraph. When the article gets expanded in the future we can adapt its structure then. --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 17:52, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
The Hero makes his way through several tunnels to the prison and finally finds his mother. Just as the Hero and Scarlet are about to escape, Jack of Blades, who is ultimately the head of the prison, appears in their path, revealing that he had set up the rescue from the start to trap them both. Both the Hero and his mother are captured and locked away.

== Related video module coming soon ==
At least one year goes by, and during this time Jack is "free to roam Albion". Finally, the Hero finds the means of escape and, together with Scarlet Robe, fights his way back through the tunnels, ultimately having to defeat the legendary [[Kraken]] to escape. After a ferocious battle, he casts it back into the deep pit it is contained and makes it back to the graveyard - which is now seemingly peaceful.

After a brief reunion with his mother, the Hero and Scarlet Robe part ways (not before his mother unlocks another untapped source of power in his blood) to try and stop Jack from finding the [[Sword of Aeons]], which would give him even more power. Scarlet goes to find Theresa while the Hero heads for [[Hook Coast]] to find the key which Jack of Blades needs to activate all the Focus Sites which will lead him to the Sword. On his first trip to the old abbey of Hook Coast, a magical barrier blocks his path, but his mother finds a book in Maze's quarter which could unlock the barrier. Upon returning to the Guild, he is a moment too late to save his mother from being kidnapped by minions of Jack.

Nevertheless, he takes the book his mother has found and gives it to the Guildmaster, who is familiar with the arcane runes that will grant the Hero access to the abbey. He stands by the barrier as the Guildmaster reads the runes and unlocks the mystical force field. There he finds [[Maze]], who has his sister imprisoned with magic, lying that Theresa is being controlled by Jack of Blades.

:Ok, thanks for that. Looks like it may be a good way to add and watch videos. Where are the videos sourced from? I searched for "Fable" on the linked Video Wiki and there's only one that came up there, which is the trailer for [[Fable: The Journey]]. Or does it only find videos that are uploaded to the wiki? Quite a lot of the ones we have here are done by the <nowiki><youtube /></nowiki> tag rather than uploaded using [[Special:WikiaVideoAdd]], which is the only video upload page that I actually know of. Has this process changed now videos are moving to the File namespace?
Theresa counters his claims, accusing Maze of joining Jack of Blades' forces and betraying the Guild. Jack arrives and orders Maze to trap the Hero, and takes the key, in the process revealing Maze's true allegiance. He teleports himself away so that he could activate the focus sites as Theresa uses her own will abilities to free her brother. The Hero and Maze fight fiercely, their battle taking them all over the town of Hook coast, culminating at the foot of the lighthouse. Maze's full power proves to be no match for the Hero and he is cut down. Before drawing his last breath, Maze reveals his motives for joining Jack and confesses that the Hero may be powerful enough to defeat Jack. He explains Jack's plan to activate all the sites around Albion and wishes the Hero success in his quest before dying.

:Also, we could add a small entry to [[MediaWiki:Community-corner|Community Corner]] when this goes live, which may help to draw more attention to it. I don't know if you would like to do this?

== About the HUD ==
The Hero chases Jack of Blades all over Albion to each of the four Focus Sites, hacking his way through the forces of Evil, along with the help of Guild [[Apprentice]]s, [[Albion Guard|Guards]] and the Heroes [[Briar Rose]] and Thunder, the two putting their differences aside to defeat the shadow. The Hero is not fast enough and Jack manages to activate all the sites, before heading for the Guild. The Hero rushes to his former home and when he arrives, the Guild is in flames. Jack has slain any who challenged his wrath, and has left the Guildmaster badly wounded at the base of a bookcase in the Guild Library. The Guildmaster informs the Hero that Jack's power is vast indeed and that they had no chance of stopping him, and that it was up to the Hero. As the hero enters, Jack mocks him and cuts Scarlet Robe's throat. The blood paid, he can now take the Sword of Aeons in hand. However, even with the Sword, Jack is overwhelmed by the Hero and, like his ancestor [[William Black]] had done ages before, the Hero destroys Jack's body utterly, casting his soul into the vortex that the Sword of Aeons had been removed from. He was now faced with the choice that Theresa had told him about so many years ago: either he could take the Sword of Aeons and strike his sister down to have power greater than even Jack dreamed of, or he could destroy it and its darkness forever.

Hello Enodoc. I have been noticing that the Wikia bar at the top of the screen doesn't seem to be looking like it should be. When I hover over any of the headings such as "Video Games" or "Entertainment" the drop-down list shows up but all the links appear to be missing/blank. Do you or other userd have this too or is it just me? Thanks for the help. [[User:WikiaWizard|WikiaWizard]] 17:42, May 28, 2012 (UTC)
=== The Return of Jack of Blades ===

An entire year passed, and the world settled back into the monotonies of life and the Guild was rebuilt. The Hero walked around Albion for a year seeking his new life. With Jack gone, people didn't have as much need of Heroes. After being summoned by the Guildmaster and Briar Rose they receive a message from [[Scythe]], an undead Hero in [[The Northern Wastes]] about some dangerous creatures called [[Summoners]] and that the "Chosen One" should open the gate to the prophets and take the ancient relic called the [[Fire Heart]]. There, he had to solve a puzzle called Mystery of Day and Night, if he filled the puzzle with suns he let one of the prophets free and if he fills it with moons he kills one. He then collects the Fire Heart. If The Hero didn't take the Sword of Aeons he returns to The Guild and in Maze's quarters he finds a clue which lead him to the legendary [[Avo's Tear]]. He, together with Briar Rose travel to Hook Coast and put the Fire Heart in the lighthouse, when suddenly Summoners attack the lighthouse and the two Heroes have to stop them. When the Summoners are defeated and the Fire Heart charges up, the Ship of the Drowned appeared. The Hero travelled with it to the Northern Wastes. From the coast, he travels to [[Snowspire Village]] to talk with Scythe. Scythe's plan was to ask [[Snowspire Oracle|The Oracle]] from Snowspire village about this evil that curses the Northern Wastes, but for that he needs some glyphs to awaken it. He sends the Hero to the [[The Necropolis|Necropolis]], a great city inhabited with ghosts. There, he searches and digs for glyphs at the same time that he has to fight the monsters that live in the town. After killing many creatures, he finds all the four glyphs. He then awakens the Oracle, who tells him that the evil was in fact Jack of Blades.

:Yes it does appear like that for me too. I think the text has been made white when it shouldn't have been. I'm not sure if that's an accidental result of something I did, or a problem with Wikia. --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 18:09, May 28, 2012 (UTC)
The demon dwelt in the vulcan behind the door called the [[Bronze Gate]]. It was foretold that when the Bronze Gate of the [[Archon's Folly]] was opened it marked the end of the world. He also told him that if he wanted to open the gate he had to collect, with the mask of Jack of Blades, the souls of three specific Heroes to place in the [[Archon's Shrine]]. These heroes were: a King of the Arena, the Heroine, and the Oldest. These descriptions could match with a lot of powerful Heroes. The Hero could now, aloud, hear the thoughts of Jack of Blades. Jack tries to manipulate the Hero to kill the Heroes Thunder, Briar Rose, and the Guildmaster to fulfill the quota, while the Hero could follow the path of good, and try to take the souls of already dead Heroes and leave others unharmed: taking the souls of an unknown arena fighter, his mother, and Nostro.

:::Ah, ok. At least I know now that it's not just me - I was beginning to think there was a problem with the display. Yes, I can see that the link location appears at the bottom of the page but it's not so obvious by just looking at the text. I don't know what the cause may be but it works fine at Fable Answers. I think that the text has been made white by default Wikia-wide and we just so happen to have a white background at the same time. [[User:WikiaWizard|WikiaWizard]] 20:23, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

After opening the Bronze Gate, he faces Jack again, this time in the form of a dragon. After a terrible battle, once again the Hero emerges victorious as he casts down Jack of Blades' newest form, receiving the villain's fabled mask, which he now finally realizes contains the demon's soul. Scythe telepathically explains to him that the Hero must cast the mask in the flames to destroy it forever, and all the while the mask strives to convince the Hero to wear it, thus being Jack's newest host. The Hero felt Jack's influence within him and his promise for power tempted him to the edge. At this point, the Hero has two choices: he can wear the mask and be the most evil being in the world, or he can cast the mask in the flames.

== Powers and Abilities ==

As a descendant of the ancient Archons, the Hero of Oakvale became the most powerful Hero of his age and eventually rose to become one of the most powerful Heroes of all time. After passing the vigorous trials of Hero training despite suffering through the loss of his family, the Hero emerged a master of strength, skill, and an incredible variety of Will powers.

== New images ==
When only a young man, the Hero managed to defeat the feared ex-Hero Twinblade and his entire army of united bandits, displaying not only strength, but also cunning. The Hero was also able to defeat enemies such as endless hordes of hobbes, nymphs, balverines, trolls, and the long-elusive minions. Passing through all the Arena challenges alive, a feat duplicated by few Heroes in all of history, the Hero of Oakvale further demonstrated his skill when slicing through the ancient armies of Lychfield Graveyard. Despite being locked up in Bargate Prison for a year, the Hero managed to escape, defeating some of the best-trained guards in the Albion Guard using only the most basic weapons. Once Jack of Blades' plot was revealed, the Hero also skillfully lead the charge against Jack's minion horde, defeating Maze, who was considered to be one of the greatest Heroes of the era, in the process. Catching up to Jack, the Hero slew him in a mighty one-on-one duel, performing an act that even the legendary William Black never could.

I've just uploaded some new images for Fable: The Journey, but I can't seem to add them to the slideshow on the page. The link to add them doesn't let me click, so I thought I'd ask if you could add them. Thanks :) --[[User:Alpha Lycos|Alpha Lycos]] 14:06, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
After a year passed, the march of time did nothing to dull the Hero's skills in combat. Demonstrating remarkable will and fortitude, the Hero survived the lonely journey to the forgotten Northern Wastes, able to emerge triumphant in his battles against the deadly creatures that called it home. When the Hero met Jack of Blades for the final time, he once again duplicated the impossible feat, slaying Jack of Blades for good.

In ''[[Fable II]]'', after 500 years, the Hero of Oakvale is dead. The Hero doesn't make any appearances in the game, but is mentioned in some books and stories. The Hero is said to have wielded the Sword of Aeons, yet in the [[Chamber of Fate]] it shows him taking the good choice, and casting it away. Also, Theresa is alive which is impossible if the Hero wielded the Sword of Aeons, as it required him to kill her to wield it. He might have wielded [[Avo's Tear]] which was crafted to look like the Sword of Aeons, thus confusing in-game historians (also, nobody had ever really seen the sword before, so they would probably only recognise it by its immense power). There is a [[Demon Door]] in [[Oakfield]] where many believe the Hero of Oakvale spent his final years in a retreat called [[Serenity Farm]], as it is written in the description of the property.

== Trivia ==
+
== Fable II pub games ==
*There exists, in-game, a book named "[[The Trials of Aarkan]]", the events of said book are markedly similar to the Hero's youth and quest.

*In ''[[Fable II]]'', you'll find a book saying the Hero had children, but when the Guild was destroyed, all records were lost along with it. Your hero/heroine is likely to be a descendant of him, as the three Hero virtues are passed solely by blood, and the characters of both games possess all three virtues, which is a rarity even among Heroes.

*The Hero is a part of [[Archon|Archon's]] bloodline, many of whom seem to be immortal, so the Hero could still be alive, despite references in-game, telling of his death. However, this is unlikely as the Hero of Bowerstone is known to have died of old age in ''[[Fable III]]''.

*Performing enough expressions to [[Theresa]] in ''Fable II'' will cause her to say "You remind me of someone I once knew long, long ago".

*In the book "[[The Hero of Oakvale (book)|The Hero of Oakvale]]" in ''Fable II'', it states that the Hero of Oakvale used the [[Sword of Aeons]] against Jack of Blades, creating a paradox. Because if the Hero of Oakvale used the Sword of Aeons, it means Theresa was sacrificed. Though this may be a historical error on part of the in-game archaeologists, as The Sword of Aeons looks almost identical to the [[Avo's Tear]]. It should also be noted that the paintings in the [[Chamber of Fate]] depict the "good" ending where the Hero of Oakvale destroyed the Sword of Aeons. It becomes even more likely that it is an in-game historical mistake when taken into consideration the fact that the book mentions the Hero of Oakvale wielding the Sword of Aeons against Jack of Blades' first form. This is impossible as it is Jack himself wielding the Sword during the first battle with him.

*One of the loading screens of ''Fable II'' says that the hero is ''rumoured'' to have killed the [[Weaver|Guildmaster]]. Whether there is any truth behind this rumour is left unstated, but is likely a joke for comic relief as it states he carved "your health is low" into the Guildmaster's forehead.

*If you receive [[Avo's Tear]] in ''[[Fable:The Lost Chapters]]'', it is implied that the Hero is worthy of being buried at the grave where he found the weapon.

*In ''Fable'', the Hero appears to only have 2 toes on each foot. However, it's really one big toe and the four other toes are grouped together.

*The Hero's hair is very unique in the ''Fable'' games, in that it seems to naturally change colour as he ages. When he is a child, his hair is brown. When he's a teenager it has turned to black. He later has the possibility of it turning blond.

*It may also be assumed that if the Hero of Oakvale died before the destruction of the Guild, he may have been interred in the reserved grave in the Guild courtyard. If this happened, his remains may have been either destroyed or stolen during the attack, making their whereabouts unknown.

*In ''Fable III'', his Hero doll will sometimes make a cameo when changing the ornaments on furniture in houses owned by the player.

*The Hero's underwear is a [[Wikipedia:Union Flag|Union Jack]] flag logo.

*The Hero of Oakvale is the only playable character in the ''Fable'' series that could be killed in combat (the Hero of Bowerstone and Hero of Brightwall can only be "knocked out", and the Hero of Southcliff is always triumphant during battle cut-scenes).

*Despite popular belief it is actually this Hero which is the first to speak in the series. These were one or two words spoken when an expression was used, like "follow", "wait", "shit", "sorry", "come on" or "thanks". ''Fable III'' has the Hero produce full dialogue not just words. However, an alternative belief is that these words were spoken by something like a narrator.

Just been looking at things, and was curious if we should do more to update it. With Fable Heroes, we have a page for the achievements, but we don't for Pub Games. Should we work to make it more up to standards or leave it how it is?--[[User:Alpha Lycos|Alpha Lycos]] 03:58, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

== Question(s) About Wanted Pages ==
  +
  +
Hey Enodoc. I've been trying to sort out the Wanted Pages and removed some links by creating redirects, moving pages etc. But I came across a slight problem. If one of the links were actually deleted (because they were duplicates or against wiki policy) but the broken link remains on a User's main or talk page, can I remove the link from that page? An example of this is the [http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere?target=Inquisitor_sword Inquisitor Sword]. I know there are policies in place which state that it isn't polite to edit another User's main or talk pages unless we have their permission and so this is where my problem arises. What is the best way to handle this? Thanks [[User:WikiaWizard|WikiaWizard]] 00:44, June 2, 2012 (UTC)
  +
  +
:Just go ahead and edit it, replace the <nowiki>[[link]]</nowiki> wikitext with the <nowiki>'''bold'''</nowiki> wikitext, and put in the edit summary "Removing [[Special:WantedPages|wanted article]] red link" or something similar. Usually there is no problem with that, as it counts really as wiki maintenance rather than actually editing the content of the user pages. --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 14:15, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks so much for the welcome! I am new to this stuff. I always loved video games as a kid but that was a while ago. ;) Then I had my own kids and played with them but they were always hoarding the system. Haha. Now that I have my own system and can play when I want I have gotten into the Fable III and I love it. However, I don't really know how to navigate these helps and support sites. I appreciate your answer to my question. I am still stuck and wondering if I need to just start a new game and lose the progress I have made this far. Also, (probably stupid question), how do I "watch" your page? Thanks so much. ```` {{Unsigned|MamaBear RN}}

:I'm afraid you may need to start a new game. I've commented on your post on the forum if you would like to review that. As for watching my page, you have actually brought my attention to the fact that what I say is no longer entirely accurate. The "watch" system has since been replaced by "Following" pages. To do so however, you can click on the link in my welcome message, or indeed just [[http://fable.wikia.com/index.php?title=User_talk:Enodoc&action=watch click here], or the "Follow" option in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

:Sure, you just need to use <nowiki>{{subst:Vandalism}}</nowiki> instead of <nowiki>{{Template:Vandalism}}</nowiki>. Remember also that you can add the name of the article (if you so desire) with <nowiki>{{subst:Vandalism|</nowiki>'''article title'''}}. --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 14:02, July 1, 2012 (UTC)

== Hero Dolls ==
  +
  +
There seems to be a problem in terms of clarity and consistency in [[:Category:Hero Dolls]]. The first is that both the Hero Dolls in Fable and Fable II are listed under this category. There is no page for the actual Hero Doll in Fable II but instead just a picture and a ''general ''explaination of "Hero Dolls" under [[Hero Doll|this name]]. Also, there are only 6 Hero Dolls in Fable II but the category says otherwise. Any advice on what should be done? I have some ideas but I would like your input first if you would be so kind. Thanks [[User:WikiaWizard|WikiaWizard]] 02:18, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
  +
  +
:Well we could either leave the category as it is, and clarify the header paragraph, or split it into two different categories. Since there are not many articles on Hero Dolls I would suggest they may as well all stay in one category. The [[Hero Doll]] article as it is at the moment could be renamed to something else, perhaps just '''Hero Dolls''' and then we can use the '''Hero Doll''' page as an article for the Fable II doll. I think the issue over numbers has come from a confusion between F2 and TLC, as there were nine dolls in TLC, which is probably what the page said first, and then six more were added in F2.
  +
:The whole of the [[:Category:Objects|Objects]] category needs to be tidied, as it is the biggest one left that we haven't streamlined properly yet, mainly because I don't really know where to start. If you have any thoughts on this, let me know! --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 11:44, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

::::Ok, I've tidied most of the pages up now and clarified which game, where, how many etc etc. However there seems to be a minor dispute about where to find the one of the three random Hero Dolls in Fable II if they have the [http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/See_the_Future See the Future] DLC. According to the Hero Dolls article one of them is in the [http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/Celestial_Keep Celestial Keep] (reachable using the [http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/Cursed_Skull Cursed Skull]) near the living statues whilst the other one is in the [http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/Snowglobe_Village village] inside the [http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/Snowglobe Snowglobe] by a tree, near the entrance of the [http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/Shadow_Court Shadow Court] (these I can verify as I have gotten dolls from them myself). But, stated on the Theresa Doll article is the rather vague description that it (or any one of the 5 possible Hero Dolls) can be found in the DLC "under a bridge". Have we got any confirmation of this? Any suggestion as to what should we do? [[User:WikiaWizard|WikiaWizard]] 12:52, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
  +
  +
:::::Do we know for definite that three can be found? It's possible that "under a bridge" could refer to the same one as the Snowglobe one, if the tree by the shadow court is underneath the Oakvale wooden bridge. I can confirm that you can find one at Westcliff Shooting Range, one in the Cursed Snowglobe and one in the Cursed Skull. I agree with you about the "under the bridge" description. The Hero Doll is in a dig spot next to the tree but it not really under the bridge although it's very close to it. I think I'll go with that as the [[Snowglobe Village#Notes|Snowglobe Village]] page states that the either the Theresa or Garth Doll can be found in the dig spot so I'll change the article accordingly. : Hi Enodoc. I'm working through the objects now and I am onto the books subcategory but I've run into a bit of a problem. It is the way that they are organised. If I am sorting out the books into alphabetical order in Category:Fable Books for example, where would the book "The Balverine Slayer" fall under? Whould it be listed under "B" because of "Balverine" or would it be listed under "T" because it begins with "The"? [[User:WikiaWizard|WikiaWizard]] ([[User talk:WikiaWizard|talk]]) 09:05, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
  +
  +
:: Well I think under B is where it may be expected to be found, as it's not always possible or easy to remember whether it has a "The" in it or not. What do you think? --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 15:13, July 6, 2012 (UTC)

:::: Yep, those were my thoughts on it too. I think that it's more common that books (or anything really) are organised based on the first noun rather than whether or not it has "The" at the start. It ''is'' probable that many tend to forget that part or it's simply omitted because that it just is. Thanks again. :::What I think might be good is if we keep the templates, we can add a parameter to them that will connect to the archived page, then if the archive stops working we can just remove the parameter without having to change lots of pages again. :::OK so that works. So what we need to do, if we find an archived version exists, is add <code>|wayback=timestamp</code> to the LHF template, where <code>timestamp</code> is the capture time of the archive page, which is the 14-digit number in the URL (such as 20101113023759). -'''[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">E</font>]]''' 12:30, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Less than morally positive judgements. Keep in mind that these are early observations and more confirmation would be required to be official. On my most recent game save I made judgements that were not the most moral. Having always tried to be the benevolent ruler, it was uncomfortable to make different decisions than the norm. When setting the Tax Level I chose (Y) 'Unchanged' and have noticed no obvious change yet. For Guard Budget I also chose (Y) 'Unchanged' with no obvious results yet, although the condition of Bowerstone Castle dropped from 100% to 92% I can not say for certain that this is the only factor in that. For Child Benefits I chose (Y) 'Unchanged' and now I notice that the children in Bowerstone Industrial who are 'Factory Workers' or 'Students' will not interact with me. The children (of Industrial) who are 'Villagers' will however. When setting Alcohol Policy I went with the (X) 'Outlaw Alcohol' choice. There I can see several changes. The Cock in the Crown in Bowerstone Market now only sells 'Fruit Juice' and 'Celery' with the middle pedestal empty. There are still Beer, Wine, and Spirits bottles and crates behind the bar, as 'Stock' I suppose. The Riviter's Rest In Bowerstone Industrial also only sells 'Fruit Juice' and 'Celery'. In Brightwall I was surprised to find that the stall Brightwall Booze was still selling Wine and Spirits. while the pub Ye Quill & Quandry sold only 'Fruit Juice'. (I think I need to take that bootlegging bimbo to the Dark Sanctum and show her I mean business when I say no alcohol. LOL). I don't think I can let the economy fail so that will have to wait for a glitched or flawed in some way save. It's Fable III so that shouldn't be hard.[[User:Garry Damrau|Garry Damrau]]([[User talk:Garry Damrau|talk]]) 12:32, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

:Thanks, those are some useful observations. Don't worry about destroying your economy, I can do that in one of my saves. :That's cool. I may also try different judgements if I play some of my off-line profiles. (Stats I've worked to maintain won't be penalized) This is interesting, I recently was invited to help a friend with what he said was "the story line". When I joined his game he was at the last area of The Game but there was no Baron or Princess to be found. ''Game Ender'' I advised him to leave the save and start a new game. The glitch may go away with the next update. Who knows. I also suggested using an off-line profile to transfer the items as friends and networks can be unreliable. So I've been trying to add an item infobox to the [[Music Box]] article, since it is an item that appears in your inventory in ''[[Fable II]]'', and ran into an issue. The Type and Related Quests parameters are automatically internally linked. It causes problems when listing multiple quests or item types. :::Nice work on [[:Category:Objects]] up to now! I've been thinking, perhaps to save [[:Category:Fable]] and [[:Category:Fable II]] filling up with item articles, that we create extra categories '''Category:Fable Items''', '''Category:Fable II Items''', etc and put them into there. Then they will be categorised as a '''game item''' and also as an '''item type''' (eg [[:Category:Miscellaneous|Misc]] or [[:Category:Potions|Potions]]), in the same way that properties are categorised into '''(Game) Properties''' and '''Shops or Houses'''. it dosnt seem to be something to do with DLC I was playing on my friends xbox on the limited edition version (he has no DLC) and when I went to play it on my xbox with the normal copy of the game I had the quest but could not compleat it nothing happens when placing the last piece on the alter. :It doesn't matter what copy of game you use, as long as the DLC is working and on your xbox you should be able to run it. Technically the 'normal' copy and the 'LCE' copy disc's are exactly the same, the only difference is the items that come with the disc's, and the codes for free DLC.--[[User:Alpha Lycos|Lycos Devanos]] [[w:c:fable:User_talk:Alpha Lycos|Drop me a line]] 14:22, September 14, 2012 (UTC)

:I am reading this question about the LCE and as I have redeemed the code and play with either version of the dics with no problem, I must wonder. When you played on your friends console did you transfer your Gamertag/Profile and/or game save/s using the Xbox LIVE cloud OR by using an external USB device (i.e. flash drive)? By playing on a console that did not have the DLC that the redeem code allows you to download it may have changed you game save in a way that causes the glitch you have experienced.[[User:Garry Damrau|Garry Damrau]]([[User talk:Garry Damrau|talk]]) 18:30, September 14, 2012 (UTC)

== Fable: The Journey locations ==
  +
  +
I have recently created articles for two locations in ''Fable: The Journey'' ([[Kerr's Halt]] and [[Albion Way]]), and I would like to know your opinion on them. I found it difficult to follow the old system put in place for the series' previous installments, so I feel as though some changes might need to be made.
  +
  +
Locations seem to be much more specific now, rather than the towns and regions of the previous games. The infobox might need to be changed, and I am unsure if there are exits anymore.

:Hmm, yes, I was looking into this today to try and find out what the best course of action is. Since I don't have the game, all the info I have is coming from the strat. guide (which I do have) and a playthrough on YouTube that I am in the process of watching. What I though may be better - and your opinion would be appreciated - would be to combine the walkthrough/story articles with the location articles. Then we can have two or three main articles per chapter divided into the major locations. Minor locations, like Kerr's Halt, or Scratchvein, can then be introduced within those articles. This would save us having a number of really small stub articles that can't get any bigger because we don't know any more about the locations. See [[User:Enodoc/FTJ Walkthrough]], <s>which doesn't exist right now,</s> but should do in about half an hour, where I am detailing my idea for a structure. --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 21:34, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

:I've started my structure page, and gone as far as Woodseed in Thorndeep, because I don't know any more than that right now. I will probably make a new infobox if we go with this idea that can then be tailored towards FTJ, instead of trying to adapt our current layouts for anything. -'''[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">E</font>]]''' 22:02, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

== Page making vandalism ==
  +
  +
Recently a couple of vandal pages were made, I've deleted them but the IP address seems to be in a range, its been two different IP addresses yet the same style of thing made. I figured I'd come here to see what we should do about them, I know in the past you've done a range block but I'm not sure how to do that or if it should be done at this point. The most recent address was 121.74.61.64 --[[User:Alpha Lycos|Lycos Devanos]] [[w:c:fable:User_talk:Alpha Lycos|Drop me a line]] 08:45, October 24, 2012 (UTC)
  +
  +
:A range block sounds like a good idea to me. If something similar has happened twice, that's a good measure to go on. Since there was nothing particularly offensive, it can be a short one this time. There's some info about range blocks [[mw:Help:Range blocks|here]]. I use [http://toolserver.org/~chm/blockcalc.php this] to calculate them.
  +
:It may also be useful to get an idea of what you are blocking, if you go for a range. WolframAlpha can tell you who an IP is registered to. For example, these two are registered to TelstraClear, NZ. There's always a balancing act in range blocking - you want to stop the vandals, but not hinder access to any genuine contributor. In this case, a range block including both of these would be 121.74.32.0/19 and would block 8192 addresses; you then wouldn't want this to go on for more time than is necessary to deter the vandal.
  +
:This is just taking you through my thought process. Taking into account all of this, what I will do is block 121.74.32.0/19 for 1 month.

Thought I'd go through the wanted pages and remove some of the unnecessary page links, ones that we either can't make or have no place as a page. I've come across one which seems to be missing from the page it claims to be linked on. If you search the wanted pages, you will find a link "Spell a Spell Gauntlet" but going to the page its said to be on, the Userbox page, there is no link for such. Any ideas?--[[User:Alpha Lycos|Lycos Devanos]] [[w:c:fable:User_talk:Alpha Lycos|Drop me a line]] 13:41, November 1, 2012 (UTC)

:Interesting one, that. It seems to be based on the code I've used in [[Template:UserSpellweave]], but it's clearly not doing what I wanted it to. Using the <code>#ifexist:</code> function, I've asked whether the page "Spell a Spell Gauntlet" exists, and sinceit doesn't, it's supposed to return "Spell a Spell Gauntlet" without a link. What it seems to actually be doing is returning both "Spell a Spell Gauntlet" without a link, and "Spell a Spell Gauntlet" with a link, and outputting to the userbox the actual result. It's probably that I don't actually understand how <code>#ifexist:</code> works rather than something wrong with the code itself. I'll see if I can get it to stop though. --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 14:43, November 1, 2012 (UTC)

::Hmmm, it seems at the moment that the only way I can stop it is at the expense of the links to real pages in that userbox by removing the link coding completely. I used the same code in some others as well, so you may come across it again (eg [[Template:UserLocationFable2]]). I'll ask on the forums if there's a way to get it to work as I expect it to. --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 14:53, November 1, 2012 (UTC)

::Scrap that. I've found [[w:Forum:Ifexist|this]] on the forums, and it's actually an internal problem with <code>#ifexist:</code> itself. Any call to <code>#ifexist:</code> creates a link that is added to WantedPages, regardless of whether I put a link into its parameters or not. We can either go through and remove <code>#ifexist:</code> from pages completely, which will remove the WantedPages, or just hope that they sort it out eventually. I don't hold much hope for that though, it's been an issue since 2007. --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 15:06, November 1, 2012 (UTC)

I've been playing through the Journey and have come across collectables in the game, these consist of Hero dolls and cards detailing info about things like the Crunchy Chicks or the Baron from Lightwater, how should we go about adding the info into the wiki? :::I should have mentioned before that I do have the strategy guide (even though I don't have the game), and it suggests in there that they are always in the same places.
  +
:::Not sure whether you'd be up for it, but at some point we need our walkthrough written. I always think it's better for it to be written by someone who is actually playing the game, rather than the best alternative I could do, which would be a combination of observations from the YouTube playthrough I watched and stuff from the strategy guide. I've created a few new templates for it, namely {{T|Infobox journey}} (serves the purpose of Quest Infobox), {{T|Rest Stop}} and {{T|Optional Stop}}. The Rest Stop template would be inserted when a Rest Stop is available, and would say something like
  +
{{Rest Stop|Pull into the left lane to heal and tend to Seren.}}
  +
The Optional Stop template would be used each time an optional stop is available, with a title saying what the optional stop is, and a short paragraph detailing what happens. For example:
  +
{{Optional Stop|title=Benny the Magnificent
  +
|body=Bring the carriage to a stop inside the glowing circle to meet [[Benny|Benny the Magnificent]], who will ... (etc)}} --<span style="font-family:Verdana;">[[User:Enodoc|<font color="#4682B4">Enodoc</font>]]([[User talk:Enodoc|<font color="#228B22">Talk</font>]]) ([[User:Enodoc/User Space|User Space]])</span> 16:42, January 2, 2013 (UTC)

::::Ah okay, well I'll be working on the collectables over the next few weeks, as for the walkthrough I'm still learning the areas but once I'm fully knowledgeable about them I'll do my best to work on a walkthrough for the game. Fable Heroes Achievements

-- geekie beekie(Talk) 00:50, May 19, 2012 (UTC)

Wasn't me, it was Danny Akenson (I was just adding the infoboxes and formatting the text), but thanks for what you are both doing! I don't have the game yet so I'm not familiar with the gameplay in an extended regard, and I don't really know what the Inner Board is. If it's a gameplay feature worthy of its own article, then I would say do both; create an article for that and add any relevant information to the achievement articles as well. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 15:50, May 19, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah I noticed that not too long after I wrote you. Heh. The Inner Board should probably have an article. It is pretty directly related to the Abilities Board and I don't think there's enough to say about them separately to warrant unique articles for each. But I suppose you won't be able to provide much input until you play the game. Oh that reminds me... I guess Lionhead is giving out free Fable Heroes redemption codes for the month of May. Just in case you're interested. ;) -- geekie beekie(Talk) 17:11, May 19, 2012 (UTC)
IMO the Inner Board is just an extension of the Abilities Board and should be covered on the same page. Creating another page would be like slicing up the Road to Rule to separate pages for each gate passed.Garry Damrau(talk) 12:34, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

Robot, Mechanical, or Clockwork?

Sorry to bug you again. I just want to make sure I don't step on any toes. I was thinking of renaming the Robot Dog page to Clockwork Dog and Mechanical Beetle to Clockwork Beetle.

I just wanted to check before I did anything. Thanks as always for your input. -- geekie beekie(Talk) 19:53, May 19, 2012 (UTC)

I don't remember either whether anything is displayed when you first face them in Traitor's Keep, but if the beetles in Heroes look similar to those in TK and are definitely called Clockwork, then I would say go for it. If it turns out at a later date that those in TK are called something else, we can always rename them again later. If you have F3 easily accessible you could see if anything appears in the Stats in the Live Room of the Sanctuary that says what they are. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 21:08, May 19, 2012 (UTC)
I just checked the Stats in F3 and it doesn't mention any of the enemies you face in either DLC Quest Pack. I'm not terribly surprised but it would be nice to have something official that mentions the names. I'll go ahead and rename those pages though. -- geekie beekie(Talk) 21:50, May 19, 2012 (UTC)
I played through the Bowerstone level of Fable Heroeson a new profile last night and noticed something for the first time. The first time you face the dog enemies in the level it says their name in the background. It calls them Bomb Dogs. Should I rename the Clockwork Dog page or just add a Bomb Dog section to it? -- geekie beekie(Talk) 17:42, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
Hmmm, if you can fill it with enough information to make it worth having a section, then add it as a section for now. Otherwise, just stick it on to the end of the existing paragraph. When the article gets expanded in the future we can adapt its structure then. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 17:52, May 29, 2012 (UTC)

Related video module coming soon

Just wanted to make sure you had seen my note about the upcoming related video module, let me know if you have any questions. http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Xean/Related_videos_module_coming_soon

Sena 16:45, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for that. Looks like it may be a good way to add and watch videos. Where are the videos sourced from? I searched for "Fable" on the linked Video Wiki and there's only one that came up there, which is the trailer for Fable: The Journey. Or does it only find videos that are uploaded to the wiki? Quite a lot of the ones we have here are done by the <youtube /> tag rather than uploaded using Special:WikiaVideoAdd, which is the only video upload page that I actually know of. Has this process changed now videos are moving to the File namespace?
Also, we could add a small entry to Community Corner when this goes live, which may help to draw more attention to it. I don't know if you would like to do this?
Thanks, Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 20:43, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

About the HUD

Hello Enodoc. I have been noticing that the Wikia bar at the top of the screen doesn't seem to be looking like it should be. When I hover over any of the headings such as "Video Games" or "Entertainment" the drop-down list shows up but all the links appear to be missing/blank. Do you or other userd have this too or is it just me? Thanks for the help. WikiaWizard 17:42, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

Yes it does appear like that for me too. I think the text has been made white when it shouldn't have been. I'm not sure if that's an accidental result of something I did, or a problem with Wikia. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 18:09, May 28, 2012 (UTC)
Ah, ok. WikiaWizard 20:23, May 28, 2012 (UTC)
My fault actually. Looks like I caused it by making every link in GlobalNav white so we could see the clock I added. I've worked out a way to make the clock white and nothing else, so it should be OK now. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 23:57, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
Yes, it does seems to be fixed now after that. Thank you. Funny thing that clock; it always seems to be an hour behind for me. WikiaWizard 16:59, May 30, 2012 (UTC)
I think the clock is set to UTC, as it's the same as the server time used in signatures. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 14:04, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

New images

I've just uploaded some new images for Fable: The Journey, but I can't seem to add them to the slideshow on the page. The link to add them doesn't let me click, so I thought I'd ask if you could add them. Thanks :) --Alpha Lycos 14:06, May 29, 2012 (UTC)

All done :)

Fable II pub games

Just been looking at things, and was curious if we should do more to update it. With Fable Heroes, we have a page for the achievements, but we don't for Pub Games. Should we work to make it more up to standards or leave it how it is?--Alpha Lycos 03:58, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

Personally I don't actually know anything about it. It probably would be worth updating its articles to match though. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 14:03, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
I'll sort it out later, after I get some sleep lol. Oh, please check the Bandit coast and Temple of shadows pages for their last 4 or 5 edits, I dunno if its in need of undoing or what.--Alpha Lycos 14:10, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
Sorted. That stuff was a direct copy (formatting and all) from another website, and therefore a violation of both websites' copyright policies. There were also some random unreferenced comments from a Lionhead developer which I had to remove because they had no source information. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 14:29, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

Question(s) About Wanted Pages

An example of this is the Inquisitor Sword. I know there are policies in place which state that it isn't polite to edit another User's main or talk pages unless we have their permission and so this is where my problem arises. What is the best way to handle this? Thanks WikiaWizard 00:44, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

Just go ahead and edit it, replace the [[link]] wikitext with the '''bold''' wikitext, and put in the edit summary "Removing wanted article red link" or something similar. Usually there is no problem with that, as it counts really as wiki maintenance rather than actually editing the content of the user pages. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 14:15, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

Pub games achievement categories

I'm not sure what categories to use, since there is a small amount of achievements I wasn't sure if we should create a new sub-category for them or not. I'm working on creating the pages for them, but I'll put it on hold until this is fully decided, then it will be easier to complete the task.--Alpha Lycos 03:09, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

Creating a new category is fine, as there are enough articles for it to be worth it. I have created Category:Fable II Pub Games Achievements. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 14:15, June 2, 2012 (UTC)
Awesome, thanks. That will help a great deal.--Alpha Lycos 14:17, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks so much for the welcome! I am new to this stuff. I always loved video games as a kid but that was a while ago. ;) Then I had my own kids and played with them but they were always hoarding the system. Haha. Now that I have my own system and can play when I want I have gotten into the Fable III and I love it. However, I don't really know how to navigate these helps and support sites. I appreciate your answer to my question. I am still stuck and wondering if I need to just start a new game and lose the progress I have made this far. Also, (probably stupid question), how do I "watch" your page? Thanks so much. ```` —Preceding unsigned comment added by MamaBear RN (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~

I'm afraid you may need to start a new game. I've commented on your post on the forum if you would like to review that. As for watching my page, you have actually brought my attention to the fact that what I say is no longer entirely accurate. The "watch" system has since been replaced by "Following" pages. To do so however, you can click on the link in my welcome message, or indeed just [click here, or the "Follow" option in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
Let me know if you have any more questions.     :)       --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 23:30, June 4, 2012 (UTC)

Fable III furniture

I'm trying to figure out the best way to set up the pages for the Fable III furniture. Since an unregistered user created a page for the shining armour, which technically is part of a whole collection like the dresser, I'm trying to figure out how to set it up. Should it be like the dresser page or something different?--Alpha Lycos 17:21, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

I think doing it like the dresser page would be best. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 17:35, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Alright, thanks. Could I get you to just rename the page? I'm not very good at doing such stuff. I was thinking maybe calling it "Knight Armour (Furniture)"--Alpha Lycos 17:37, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Actually, looking at things, the collective name would just simply be Armour. So a rename would be "Armour (Furniture)" if that is suitable?--Alpha Lycos 17:50, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Yep, that will be fine. I'll do that now. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 17:53, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

Printable document of a wikitable?

Is there a way to make a printable document of a wikitable? I created an abilities checklist for Fable Heroes on my User:Garry Damrau/Scratchpad. There are two tables with 6 puppets in each. The table got scrunched when I tried to put all 12 in one table. Any input or suggestions would be appreciated.Garry Damrau(talk) 18:00, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

I'm not sure. I can't think of an easy way to do it unless you just do File → Print. Maybe there is something useful at Community Central Forum. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 19:55, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

As always your friend

Have a good holiday sir and try to relax. You deserve it. No hurry but when you come back maybe you could add some reference to the upcoming release of Edge of the World on the Fanon home page. What better place to post info about Fable fan fiction than that? Again have a good time, I'll behave.Garry Damrau(talk) 22:08, June 16, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks very much. I'll be about a bit tomorrow, but otherwise, talk to you in a couple of weeks :)
Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 22:27, June 16, 2012 (UTC)
I am doing to Driftwood quests again and I need to know what details you need re: properties. Is it what is added after 1. Pest Control, 2. An Island Getaway, then 3. Gift Wood for Driftwood, or what is added if 3. is done before 2., or what?Garry Damrau(talk) 22:42, July 5, 2012 (UTC)

Actually I pretty much finished my little Driftwood adventure today, so what I wanted for the article's just about done. It may be good to know what happen if 3 comes before 2 though. Thanks! --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 22:46, July 5, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, leave it to me to be the guinea pig.Garry Damrau(talk) 22:49, July 5, 2012 (UTC)

Nomination for Rollback

Not sure if I'm doing this correctly but I'd like to nominate someone for Rollback rights. Now, I know your away at this time but I know you will see this when you return :) and by then maybe others will agree/disagree with me. The user I'd like to nominate to join the Rollback/moderator ranks is User:Geekie beekie. They are a great contributor and have helped make the wiki a better place, undoing vandalism and formatting pages as needed.--Alpha Lycos 11:42, June 23, 2012 (UTC)

Let me secord Geekie beekie's nomination for Rollback/moderator. I have seen the fine work of this user and have nothing but praise for their work. (Y) Garry Damrau(talk) 17:35, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

I agree with Geegie Beekie's nomination also. She has added some great content whilst maintaining and streamlining our existing ones. She has also shown a good history of combating vandalism with the most recent being the edit war on the The Hero of Brightwall article. She has never had any complaints from myself or anyone from my knowledge and has settled in well with our community. (Yes!) WikiaWizard 17:55, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks so much for the nomination and support. I would be honoured to be a Rollback here. :) -- geekie beekie(Talk) (User Space) 20:40, June 30, 2012 (UTC)
Good call, Alpha. I approve the nomination. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 22:37, June 30, 2012 (UTC)

Using Vandalism Templates

Hey there Enodoc. Welcome back :) As you have already seen I added the Vandalism Template to User:94.101.164.1 recently but I seem to be having problems with the template adding my signature automatically. It just doesn't seem to happen and that's why I have to add it manually using the ~~~~ after the template. How do I fix this? Thanks. WikiaWizard 13:51, July 1, 2012 (UTC)

Sure, you just need to use {{subst:Vandalism}} instead of {{Template:Vandalism}}. Remember also that you can add the name of the article (if you so desire) with {{subst:Vandalism|article title}}. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 14:02, July 1, 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. I'll be sure to remember that from now on. I would normally include the article title but most times I find vandals that have edited more than once so I don't know where to start. I guess I should just use whichever one I find first. WikiaWizard 14:08, July 1, 2012 (UTC)
Ah yes, well if there's more than one in quick succession then it's probably not worth it, otherwise it's best to go for the first one that they vandalised. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 14:19, July 1, 2012 (UTC)

With a little help from my (wikia-) friends...

Hey boss, please help me. I don't know how to embed a link to my profile... is it [ [ Users | BBS Mr Wicked ] ] without the spaces? Thanks in advance!

BBS Mr Wicked 03:28, July 2, 2012 (UTC)

Almost, it's [[User:BBS Mr Wicked|BBS Mr Wicked]] The first part before the | is the destination page, and the second part is what is displayed on the page. In the same way, [[Albion|this code]] links to the Albion article, but says this code on the page. See Help:Links for help on linking with Visual mode.
Let me know if you have any more questions!   :)
Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 11:40, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
Thank you very much, I'll first check the help page if I stumble upon any other "Don't know"s in the future...
But thank you for the help offer. I'll be sure to hit you up on that, should I be too dumb to find answers on my own... Have a nice day!

Monobook look

I noticed a new change to the Monobook outlook, all the links now appear red, like dead links. Just thought I'd let you know.--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 02:05, July 3, 2012 (UTC)

Oops, wasn't trying to make them look like dead links. I was hoping to spruce up the Monobook skin by making its colours similar to the ones we have in Oasis, as it looks a bit plain at the moment. I can change it back though if it makes the links look dead. Check out a page in Oasis so you can get an idea of what I mean. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 11:41, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
I decided to carry on to the finished product so you can see what I was aiming for. Let me know what you think in this "completed" form. I also remember having a discussion with someone before about the red links and how they looked like the same red that a dead link used. Here they are for comparison, anyway, and yes they do look quite similar. Dead link Normal link Let me know what you think.
Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 13:29, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
Ah I see, yea a slight difference in shade lol. I just thought maybe you had accidentally put the wrong colour shading in. I'll get used to it, just will take a little time.--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 22:22, July 3, 2012 (UTC)

Hero Dolls

There seems to be a problem in terms of clarity and consistency in Category:Hero Dolls. The first is that both the Hero Dolls in Fable and Fable II are listed under this category. There is no page for the actual Hero Doll in Fable II but instead just a picture and a general explaination of "Hero Dolls" under this name. Also, there are only 6 Hero Dolls in Fable II but the category says otherwise. Any advice on what should be done? I have some ideas but I would like your input first if you would be so kind. Thanks WikiaWizard 02:18, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

Well we could either leave the category as it is, and clarify the header paragraph, or split it into two different categories. Since there are not many articles on Hero Dolls I would suggest they may as well all stay in one category. The Hero Doll article as it is at the moment could be renamed to something else, perhaps just Hero Dolls and then we can use the Hero Doll page as an article for the Fable II doll. I think the issue over numbers has come from a confusion between F2 and TLC, as there were nine dolls in TLC, which is probably what the page said first, and then six more were added in F2.
The whole of the Objects category needs to be tidied, as it is the biggest one left that we haven't streamlined properly yet, mainly because I don't really know where to start. If you have any thoughts on this, let me know! --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 11:44, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
Yes. Those were pretty much my thoughts too. I'll start work now on organising the Hero Dolls category now but in terms of the objects category I guess that it does need some help. I'm more than happy to go for it and update you with details or problems I might have. Here I go :) WikiaWizard 11:59, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
Ok, I've tidied most of the pages up now and clarified which game, where, how many etc etc. However there seems to be a minor dispute about where to find the one of the three random Hero Dolls in Fable II if they have the See the Future DLC. According to the Hero Dolls article one of them is in the Celestial Keep (reachable using the Cursed Skull) near the living statues whilst the other one is in the village inside the Snowglobe by a tree, near the entrance of the Shadow Court (these I can verify as I have gotten dolls from them myself). But, stated on the Theresa Doll article is the rather vague description that it (or any one of the 5 possible Hero Dolls) can be found in the DLC "under a bridge". Have we got any confirmation of this? Any suggestion as to what should we do? WikiaWizard 12:52, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
Do we know for definite that three can be found? It's possible that "under a bridge" could refer to the same one as the Snowglobe one, if the tree by the shadow court is underneath the Oakvale wooden bridge. Otherwise I'm not sure, I guess we can look around the internet and see if there's a better description, or wait until someone plays the DLC again. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 13:21, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

I think I'll go with that as the Snowglobe Village page states that the either the Theresa or Garth Doll can be found in the dig spot so I'll change the article accordingly. Thanks! WikiaWizard 13:37, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

Hi Enodoc. WikiaWizard (talk) 09:05, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
Well I think under B is where it may be expected to be found, as it's not always possible or easy to remember whether it has a "The" in it or not. What do you think? --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 15:13, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
Yep, those were my thoughts on it too. I think that it's more common that books (or anything really) are organised based on the first noun rather than whether or not it has "The" at the start. It is probable that many tend to forget that part or it's simply omitted because that it just is. Thanks again. WikiaWizard (talk) 23:43, July 6, 2012 (UTC)

Lionhead Forum Archive

Don't exactly remember how I managed to find it, but I stumbled upon an archive of the Lionhead Forums. It will take a while to check for all of the defunct links but I've already confirmed one from the Rose article. Here is the link to the archived post. -- geekie beekie(Talk) (User Space) 23:39, July 7, 2012 (UTC)

Coolio. I seem to recall seeing that site before for another purpose, but had no idea where it was. That could be very useful in keeping up our references. When I am more awake I will look into it further. Thanks! --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 23:57, July 7, 2012 (UTC)
No problem. I was pretty excited when I found it. Should I just go ahead and replace the LHF templates with the valid links or do we want to keep some kind of record of the old links? -- geekie beekie(Talk) (User Space) 01:40, July 8, 2012 (UTC)
What I think might be good is if we keep the templates, we can add a parameter to them that will connect to the archived page, then if the archive stops working we can just remove the parameter without having to change lots of pages again. We would need to check that the archive existed, as there's no guarantee that the whole site was done. I'll experiment with the template and see what I can do. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 12:07, July 8, 2012 (UTC)
OK so that works. So what we need to do, if we find an archived version exists, is add |wayback=timestamp to the LHF template, where timestamp is the capture time of the archive page, which is the 14-digit number in the URL (such as 20101113023759). -E 12:30, July 8, 2012 (UTC)
I like that idea. I'll get started on helping out with that. -- geekie beekie(Talk) (User Space) 20:39, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

The Road Less Traveled

It's Fable III so that shouldn't be hard.Garry Damrau(talk) 12:32, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, those are some useful observations. Don't worry about destroying your economy, I can do that in one of my saves. In fact, I already have, and should probably start comparing that save with my "Good" (and glitched) save to see what I can find out. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 17:11, July 11, 2012 (UTC)
That's cool. I may also try different judgements if I play some of my off-line profiles. (Stats I've worked to maintain won't be penalized) This is interesting, I recently was invited to help a friend with what he said was "the story line". When I joined his game he was at the last area of The Game but there was no Baron or Princess to be found. Game Ender I advised him to leave the save and start a new game. The glitch may go away with the next update. Who knows. I also suggested using an off-line profile to transfer the items as friends and networks can be unreliable. Sorry, no. I know it does occasionally happen, but I don't know why. I can suggest trying a different browser (such as IE, Firefox, Chrome), or otherwise see if it sorts itself out in a few days. If not, send a bug report to Special:Contact. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 17:06, July 25, 2012 (UTC)

Best course of action

Hey, just curious which you think might be the best course of action with a couple of pages. Seems we have Women's Masquerade Suit and Women's Masquerade Dress, however the latter of the two is mostly covered by the former. I'm not sure if a redirect would be best or a deletion, so thought I'd get your opinion first. Thanks :) --Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 22:02, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

I'm not actually sure what the outfit is actually called, but I would say copy across whatever info is not covered by one into the other and set the leftover one as a redirect.
How are you finding the admin stuff? Let me know if you have any questions, and there is also Admin Central at Community Central if you want to look around that. Also, if you would like a new colour associated to your user name, instead of Rollback Green, then feel free to choose one. There's a bunch of standard colours at Wikipedia:Web colors, or you could choose one by hex code (such as #228B22, #A21F1F, #FA8F60).
Finally, please see Forum:HTML5 and bots, I would appreciate your input. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 22:16, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Alright, from what I can gather the correct one is the Suit one. All the Dress page has on it is info about the outfit being available, and that its brown unless dyed. Being an admin is good, though haven't been around much so put myself into play. A couple of vandalism reversals, and a warning to a user so far. Colour is fine ^^ with the way my signature is set up, it looks pretty good keeping the green. I saw the forum, but hadn't given it much thought due to being unwell lately. I'll look again and leave some input :) --Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 22:25, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Sure, no problem.     :)       --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 22:33, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Fixed Position HTML element

Ah yes, sorry about that. Didn't notice they were blocking the chat and all that as the main Wiki I work on has the images and whatnot go behind everything, chat bar included, and I admittedly wasn't paying much attention. I just flat out removed the image and video. If my page still causes problems, please do contact me as I can't see anymore myself. --— Touhou FTW (talk) 19:26, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

That seems to have sorted it. The rest is OK. Thanks! --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 11:17, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

Template stuff

So I've been trying to add an item infobox to the Music Box article, since it is an item that appears in your inventory in Fable II, and ran into an issue. The Type and Related Quests parameters are automatically internally linked. It causes problems when listing multiple quests or item types. Can I just remove that wikitext in the template and update the template documentation? -- geekie beekie(Talk) (User Space) 17:44, August 19, 2012 (UTC)

Technically, yes that would work. But that would mean the other transclusions of that template would no longer function correctly. I have an alternative fix I can use (based on the #ifexist function) but have no time to do it right now. I'll aim to do that when I get back this evening. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 17:51, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
Wow, yeah that's a lot transclusions. I'm glad I asked before doing. I'd hate to cause more problems. There's no rush, I have my planned edits saved on a doc so I can always add it whenever you have time to do it. Thanks :) -- geekie beekie(Talk) (User Space) 18:04, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
Right, that should do it. Whatever you put into Type and Related Quests, it will now look to see if there's an article called that. If there is, it'll link to it, if there isn't, it won't.
Nice work on Category:Objects up to now! I've been thinking, perhaps to save Category:Fable and Category:Fable II filling up with item articles, that we create extra categories Category:Fable Items, Category:Fable II Items, etc and put them into there. Then they will be categorised as a game item and also as an item type (eg Misc or Potions), in the same way that properties are categorised into (Game) Properties and Shops or Houses. What do you think?
Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 21:56, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks so much. Yeah, I was worried about those categories filling up. I like that idea. One of the items I keep getting stumped on is the Amethyst. I had thought it was specific to TLC but it only mentions Fable in the article. I would suggest a Fable TLC Items category but I'm not sure if there's enough to really put in there. What do you think? -- geekie beekie(Talk) (User Space) 22:05, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
Well it says it can only be found in two places in the Northern Wastes so that does make it TLC only. As for a Fable TLC Items category, that depends on how many different things would go in it. We won't for now, and if there are lots of TLC items we can move them across to a separate category later. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 22:12, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, sounds good. I suppose we could also categorise the TLC Hero Dolls in there but that's still not much. I guess I'll actually have to play both games through again to see if there are more TLC specific items. -- geekie beekie(Talk) (User Space) 22:32, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
You never know, the articles may be replete enough that they actually say within them.       :)

Novel Template

Hey, I just wanted to ask you about the {{Template:Novel}} on Reaver's page. I know very little about templates, but do you have any suggestions for characters who appear in more than one novel, such as Reaver, Ben Fin, and Page? How can the canonicity disclaimer be modified to accomodate them and list multiple novels? Thankee much. TheIndifferentist (Talk) 22:57, August 22, 2012 (UTC)

I've modified it to include an extra parameter. Now with multi=true, the formatting for parameter {{{1}}} is removed, and anything can be added there. (See Reaver for how this works.) --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 23:19, August 22, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, excellent. Thanks a lot for that. TheIndifferentist (Talk) 18:46, August 27, 2012 (UTC)

Gah. Sometimes I hate adding images.

I don't know what happened but somehow I uploaded an image without the licensing again. It's a screenshot. How can I add the license after it's been uploaded so that it doesn't fall on you? -- geekie beekie(Talk) (User Space) 04:28, August 27, 2012 (UTC)

I took a look at things, but I'm not 100% sure, but it seems if one just edits and adds == Licensing == {{Lionhead}} to the page it should work. Again, not 100% sure so can't say if it will work.--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 04:38, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Alpha. Didn't realize you were on or I would've just asked you. Hehe. -- geekie beekie(Talk) (User Space) 04:40, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
You can find me on roughly any time between 11am and 3am NZ timezone. Sadly due to using Monobook style I can't enter the chat.--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 04:44, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
Good to know. Yeah, I hate the chat. It's annoying. I wish we had an irc channel we could use. Ah, I miss the irc days. Anyway, since I'm technically talking to both of you now there is something else I could use some help with.
I've run into a few snags with the Objects Category. There's two pages for one item: Dog Treat and Dog treats. Dog Treat is the correct in-game name. It's just like the Women's Masquerade Suit thing but this time I didn't make one of the pages. Hehe. There are also a few things I'm not quite sure how to categorise. Snowspire Oracle, Tombstones, and Gold. So far I just added the Gameplay category to Gold but it doesn't really seem to belong in the Objects category. Should I just categorise it under the Items sub-categories for each game? I really don't know what to do with the Oracle and Tombstones though so I thought I would check with you guys. Thanks again! -- geekie beekie(Talk) (User Space) 04:59, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
Hm well I've sorted out the Dog treat thing, as for the rest I'm not sure. The Oracle from what I've heard is more like an NPC, but the rest are objects. Best see what Enodoc thinks, but otherwise they'd go in objects from my experience.--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 05:10, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
I see most of the questions were sorted already  :)
I think Snowspire Oracle, Tombstones and Gold can probably just stay where they are in Objects. You could add Snowspire Oracle to Lore as well. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 18:08, August 27, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for that

Thanks for your help with the Hero of Oakvale thing. I was just leaving a message for Alpha on his talk page when that went down. And I guess they just deleted my message there now. Fun. Anyway, I'm stepping away to cool off and attend to other obligations. Thanks again. -- geekie beekie(Talk) (User Space) 23:06, August 29, 2012 (UTC)

Recent Work

Hey, Enodoc.

Recently I've been doing some fairly major rewriting on a few Fable II character articles, adding details, images, and making some format changes. I think a primary example of the kind of changes I've been making can be seen on my recent edit to the Giles article, as well as the characters related to him. I just wanted to know if you had any issues with the changes I am making.

Sláinte mhaith! - Hobbes (Talk) 01:58, September 2, 2012 (UTC)

Looks good in all. A couple of things I noticed though: standard infobox image width should be 220px (not sure if MoS says that or if it still says 250, will check). Also, just a niggle, that Giles was chasing Arfur through Bowerstone in Hero's Tale, not Southcliff, as the Hero doesn't visit Southcliff until they are grown up.
Somebody somewhere (not sure if it was you or someone else, also can't remember where it was) made some suggestions on how character articles could be standardised better. If I find it I'll put a link here. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 16:34, September 2, 2012 (UTC)
All right, thanks. I've corrected my mistakes. Sorry for the image size and Southcliff thing, they were total oversights on my part.
Sláinte mhaith! - Hobbes (Talk) 20:25, September 2, 2012 (UTC)

One day I'll learn to do this right

I just added a picture of the Black Gauntlets available as a pre-order bonus from GameStop. I missed entering the licensing. Could you add it please.Garry Damrau(talk) 18:27, September 4, 2012 (UTC)

Silverpines Curse Glitch

it dosnt seem to be something to do with DLC I was playing on my friends xbox on the limited edition version (he has no DLC) and when I went to play it on my xbox with the normal copy of the game I had the quest but could not compleat it nothing happens when placing the last piece on the alter. 86.25.179.67 14:18, September 14, 2012 (UTC)

It doesn't matter what copy of game you use, as long as the DLC is working and on your xbox you should be able to run it. Technically the 'normal' copy and the 'LCE' copy disc's are exactly the same, the only difference is the items that come with the disc's, and the codes for free DLC.--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 14:22, September 14, 2012 (UTC)
I am reading this question about the LCE and as I have redeemed the code and play with either version of the dics with no problem, I must wonder. When you played on your friends console did you transfer your Gamertag/Profile and/or game save/s using the Xbox LIVE cloud OR by using an external USB device (i.e. flash drive)? By playing on a console that did not have the DLC that the redeem code allows you to download it may have changed you game save in a way that causes the glitch you have experienced.Garry Damrau(talk) 18:30, September 14, 2012 (UTC)

Wikia's Fantasy Fellowship

Hey Enodoc!

Wikia is hosting a "Fantasy Fellowship" to commemorate The Hobbit and Hobbit Day!

Check out this blog on how Fable Wiki can get involved!

Kate_03.png (talk) 20:26, September 14, 2012 (UTC)

Sounds fun. I'm certainly up for the idea. I'll leave this section open now for any others to comment on. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 20:38, September 14, 2012 (UTC)

That's great! You can sign up for Adventure Dream Team or have Fable Wiki participate in the Fantasy Fellowship via the blog above!

I never realized that the 'Fantasy Fellowship' was Tolkien-related. I suppose joining would be neat, as long as we're not in turn obligated to do the 'Dream Team' thing. TheIndifferentist (Talk) 20:09, September 18, 2012 (UTC)

The Journey demo

The demo is now available for non-gold members, should this be added as a separate note on the main page or should we just remove the Gold exclusive part? Thought I'd ask since I've never dealt with the news feed part before and didn't want to mess things up.--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 22:08, September 28, 2012 (UTC)

Since the rest is pretty much the same, we'll just remove the Gold-exclusive part. Thanks! --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 23:00, September 28, 2012 (UTC)
No problem! I would have responded sooner but was enjoying learning about the game. It is a very fun experience, I can't wait to be able to get it for myself. And it adds to the lore and mystery of Albion, such as the coming of a mysterious "Him"--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 23:43, September 28, 2012 (UTC)

Fable: The Journey locations

I have recently created articles for two locations in Fable: The Journey (Kerr's Halt and Albion Way), and I would like to know your opinion on them. I found it difficult to follow the old system put in place for the series' previous installments, so I feel as though some changes might need to be made.

Locations seem to be much more specific now, rather than the towns and regions of the previous games. The infobox might need to be changed, and I am unsure if there are exits anymore.

Sláinte mhaith! - Hobbes (Talk) 21:12, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

Hmm, yes, I was looking into this today to try and find out what the best course of action is. See User:Enodoc/FTJ Walkthrough, which doesn't exist right now, but should do in about half an hour, where I am detailing my idea for a structure. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 21:34, October 18, 2012 (UTC)
I've started my structure page, and gone as far as Woodseed in Thorndeep, because I don't know any more than that right now. I will probably make a new infobox if we go with this idea that can then be tailored towards FTJ, instead of trying to adapt our current layouts for anything. -E 22:02, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

Page making vandalism

Recently a couple of vandal pages were made, I've deleted them but the IP address seems to be in a range, its been two different IP addresses yet the same style of thing made. I figured I'd come here to see what we should do about them, I know in the past you've done a range block but I'm not sure how to do that or if it should be done at this point. The most recent address was 121.74.61.64 --Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 08:45, October 24, 2012 (UTC)

A range block sounds like a good idea to me. If something similar has happened twice, that's a good measure to go on. Since there was nothing particularly offensive, it can be a short one this time. There's some info about range blocks here. I use this to calculate them.
It may also be useful to get an idea of what you are blocking, if you go for a range.
This is just taking you through my thought process. Taking into account all of this, what I will do is block 121.74.32.0/19 for 1 month.
Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 12:09, October 24, 2012 (UTC)
Wow, thanks for the info :) And I'm shocked about the registration of those IP addresses, they are through the same phone company I recently signed up with. I'll keep an eye on more, and shall remember this info for future issues. Its good having someone with experience to help me learn :) --Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 20:36, October 24, 2012 (UTC)

Red link stumped

Thought I'd go through the wanted pages and remove some of the unnecessary page links, ones that we either can't make or have no place as a page. I've come across one which seems to be missing from the page it claims to be linked on. If you search the wanted pages, you will find a link "Spell a Spell Gauntlet" but going to the page its said to be on, the Userbox page, there is no link for such. Any ideas?--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 13:41, November 1, 2012 (UTC)

Interesting one, that. It seems to be based on the code I've used in Template:UserSpellweave, but it's clearly not doing what I wanted it to. Using the #ifexist: function, I've asked whether the page "Spell a Spell Gauntlet" exists, and sinceit doesn't, it's supposed to return "Spell a Spell Gauntlet" without a link. What it seems to actually be doing is returning both "Spell a Spell Gauntlet" without a link, and "Spell a Spell Gauntlet" with a link, and outputting to the userbox the actual result. It's probably that I don't actually understand how #ifexist: works rather than something wrong with the code itself. I'll see if I can get it to stop though. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 14:43, November 1, 2012 (UTC)
Hmmm, it seems at the moment that the only way I can stop it is at the expense of the links to real pages in that userbox by removing the link coding completely. I used the same code in some others as well, so you may come across it again (eg Template:UserLocationFable2). I'll ask on the forums if there's a way to get it to work as I expect it to. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 14:53, November 1, 2012 (UTC)
Scrap that. I've found this on the forums, and it's actually an internal problem with #ifexist: itself. Any call to #ifexist: creates a link that is added to WantedPages, regardless of whether I put a link into its parameters or not. We can either go through and remove #ifexist: from pages completely, which will remove the WantedPages, or just hope that they sort it out eventually. I don't hold much hope for that though, it's been an issue since 2007. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 15:06, November 1, 2012 (UTC)
Ah okay, well then once I wake up and depending on what plans are happening, I'll get started on seeking the ifexist codes to remove the wanted pages :) Thanks for the help!--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 18:00, November 1, 2012 (UTC)

Fable The Journey collectables

I've been playing through the Journey and have come across collectables in the game, these consist of Hero dolls and cards detailing info about things like the Crunchy Chicks or the Baron from Lightwater, how should we go about adding the info into the wiki? Should we add it to the current pages or make new ones under a (Fable: The Journey) heading? Figured I'd ask first to make sure, I'd hate to start then have things better for their own pages lol--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 08:43, January 1, 2013 (UTC)

They can be mentioned on the articles about the objects that exist already, then we can use a new page Collectables (there are some links to here but it doesn't exist yet) where we can give details on all the collectables, what they are used for, and list what and where they are, solely in the context of FTJ. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 21:26, January 1, 2013 (UTC)
Ah okay thanks! It will take some testing though to make sure they aren't random, but typically they come from chests found either at the optional stops or campsites from what I've encountered. Its a slow process cause I keep stopping playing when my kinect decides to be annoying and not work right, I throw a spell straight but it goes to the left etc.--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 01:06, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
I should have mentioned before that I do have the strategy guide (even though I don't have the game), and it suggests in there that they are always in the same places.
Not sure whether you'd be up for it, but at some point we need our walkthrough written. I always think it's better for it to be written by someone who is actually playing the game, rather than the best alternative I could do, which would be a combination of observations from the YouTube playthrough I watched and stuff from the strategy guide. I've created a few new templates for it, namely {{Infobox journey}} (serves the purpose of Quest Infobox), {{Rest Stop}} and {{Optional Stop}}. The Rest Stop template would be inserted when a Rest Stop is available, and would say something like

Rest Stop: Pull into the left lane to heal and tend to Seren.

The Optional Stop template would be used each time an optional stop is available, with a title saying what the optional stop is, and a short paragraph detailing what happens. For example: Template:Optional Stop --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 16:42, January 2, 2013 (UTC)

Ah okay, well I'll be working on the collectables over the next few weeks, as for the walkthrough I'm still learning the areas but once I'm fully knowledgeable about them I'll do my best to work on a walkthrough for the game. Though for most battles the best walkthrough would be just giving advice about dodging and such. But I'll see who else has the game to help with this :)--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 22:24, January 2, 2013 (UTC)

A glaring omission

I know it's not real important but I could not help but notice that there is no page for two Fable III Items, Topaz and Pearl. I added a copy of the Fable III text from the Amethyst page to Diamond, Ruby, Emerald, and Jet but don't know how to create a page for the other two new gems added to Fable III.12.139.7.2 13:42, January 1, 2013 (UTC)

Clockwork Rifle

Hey, you know where I can find a Clockwork Rifle in Fable II???  please tell me where I find them and they are made.

Esgalduin

They may occasionally appear in the inventories of the Bowerstone Market blacksmith and the Oakfield weapon stall. More often you can find them in the blacksmith in Bloodstone. Most likely, however, is through the travelling traders. Look for Weapons Traders in Bower Lake, Brightwood, Fairfax Gardens and, if you have completed Something Rotten, Rookridge. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 23:13, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

Figured I'd come get a bit of help with the issue.--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 06:01, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

OK I'll say it. This debate over the Hero of Oakvale should be ended. All of the registered users agree that he is dead. The article has been the subject of a constant edit war. I suggest that the page be locked from editing by all but administration or at least registered users. Other wikis have pages that are locked to anonymous users. Why can't we do that too?Garry Damrau(talk) 10:41, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

I am inclined to agree, under the pseudo-clause of maintaining integrity due to the fact this dispute is constant, and is not likely to end. So I will propose indefinite semi-protection (registered users only). All those in favour? Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 13:12, February 17, 2013 (UTC)
I'll vote a yes towards it. Its annoying having to constantly remove the edit, especially when its been confirmed in multiple areas that the Hero is dead.--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 13:14, February 17, 2013 (UTC)
